Hotel Monaco Alexandria is a landmark hotel situated on the always vibrant King Street in Old Town Alexandria. The former Holiday Inn is today a 6-story boutique hotel that features 241 luxury guest rooms along with a restaurant and meeting space. A sumptuous lobby greets guests with rich decor of peacock blue walls, crimson accents, and cozy seating nooks. Additionally, there are 2 levels of integrated parking below grade. The structure was built circa 1975 and features a post-tensioned mat foundation and two-way PT slabs.

Since 2011, Kline has been retained by Kimpton Hotels to provide structural engineering consulting for the building. We have completed several projects including condition assessment reports for the foundation and parking levels, a post-earthquake study, and a comprehensive repair of the post-tensioned mat foundation.

In 2016, the Hotel Monaco changed hands and name, the new owners AllianceBernstein and Fulcrum Hospitality renamed the hotel in December 2020, The Alexandrian.
