Project Description

The Courtyard Marriot, designed by Bounds & Gillespie Architects, is a 6-story hotel with a partially submerged parking garage. With a carrying capacity of over 400 passenger cars, the parking garage has two levels totaling 98,147 sf of space. Due to the geography and limited space, the parking garage optimizes the parking spaces by locating parking entrances in the lower and upper level of the parking garage.

Kline is retained as the structural engineer of record for the Marriott parking garage. The structure is post-tensioned cast-in-place with parapet walls as the vehicular barrier. The elevated slabs and beams are designed to carry a 40-ton fire vehicle. Our team provided a design that was more cost effective for the owner compared to the precast alternative.
