Project Description

The Aria on L at 300 L Street in N.E. Washington, DC, is a six-story mixed use, wood-frame building, with one story parking garage below grade, one story of retail at grade level, and five stories of housing units resting on a post-tensioned podium slab.

Kline worked with Facchina Construction to propose a design-build delivery for the concrete frame.

Our team was responsible for the design of the cast in place (CIP) concrete building frame for the project. The concrete frame consists of foundations, columns, walls, elevated slab, and podium slab. The total area of the elevated slab is approximately 20,000 sf.

By incorporating post-tensioning for the slab and podium level, our solution resulted in a robust yet constructible design.
